By using the Athletics Ireland Membership platform you will receive your funds per transaction in real time to your merchant account. To facilitate this model Eventmaster are using Stripe Connect to manage transactions.
Step 1 of 11 – Getting Started
In order to start taking live transactions you will need to setup a Stripe account
- Go to https://stripe.com/en-ie
- Click ‘Start Now’ circled below
Step 2 of 11 – Creating your Stripe account
Fill in your details and click ‘Create Account’. **NOTE – This should be a generic club email address so that it can be passed on to future club officials.
If additional information is required, Stripe will send notifications to the email address linked to the account. Please be aware, if the required information is not provided, payouts from Stripe will eventually be paused until this information is provided. Once the information is updated, payouts will then be resumed.
Step 3 of 11 – Verify your email
You will be sent a verification email automatically, if you don’t receive one you can request another by clicking ‘verify your email’ below. Check your Spam folder if you cannot see the email.
Log into your email account and click the link in the verification email.
Step 4 of 11 – Adding your details.
Please Note: This is the most important step!
Once the email is verified, click Add business details circled below
Fill in your club address details. You can put your own address in here, it can be edited if there is a handover with club officials.
WARNING: Make sure to select ‘Individual/Sole Trader’ as the type of business.
Step 5 of 11 – Fill in your personal information.
Please ensure before moving forward you need to have selected ‘Individual/Sole Trader’ as the type of business.

Step 6 of 11 – Fill in your business details
Fill in your business info below. Select Membership Organizations and Other membership organizations in the Industry drop-down.
- In Business Website you can enter a club web address, Facebook etc.
Or if you don’t have one just enter www.athleticsireland.ie. - Type in Athletics Club into Product Description
Step 7 of 11 – Fill in customer statement information.
The information below will appear on a customer statement e.g. a member booking onto your event or paying club fees. Enter your club name here.
Step 8 of 11 – Fill in your club bank account details
Fill in your club bank account details (IBAN) here. It is important to have a club account so that you can hand this over to future club officials.
Step 9 of 11 – Two-Step Authentication
Once you have filled in your IBAN you will be asked to provide Two-step authentication. Use SMS text to your phone as this method.
Once you confirm your number you will be texted a 6 digit code.
Enter this on the next screen
**Make sure to drop the 0 from your number e.g. +353 87 1234567
Step 10 of 11 – Summary
You will be presented with a summary of your details. Once you have reviewed these details carefully, click on the Submit button to finish creating your account.
Step 11 of 11 – Connect your stripe to receive revenue

11(b) Connect to collect club memberships
If you are connecting your Stripe to receive registration fees from club members, a club official must log in to https://membership.athleticsireland.ie/ and follow the steps in the screenshot below:
You will be taken to the Stripe website, where you must log in to the account you want to connect. Enter your email address and click Continue. Then enter your password and press Continue.
Select the correct account and press Connect.
Please Note: You must be a club official to instigate step 11(b). You must be able to log in to the club Stripe account to complete step 11(b).
